Lord of The Ring: "My presciouss"

As you all might have already known, I am on obstetrics and gynaecology rotation. Do you know how painful it is to give birth? The pain is unthinkable.

My first delivery was a first-time mother, she was in great agony from labour pain. She repeatedly said "I couldn't do it, I couldn't do it. I wanna go for a C-section, I gotta go for a C-section". She was feverish, face was flushed, panting, in pain. Guess what, no one could grant her wish. She hasn't slept for 3 days. She's too tired but couldn't go to sleep. She can't even open her eyes.

Then.......a hero came in. In scrubs, blonde hair, kind smile, very pleasant.....The anaesthetist!!! Drilled me to the ground with anaesthetic questions, and explained after, love.this.guy. May God bless him. Explained what epidural is and the side-effects to the patient..patient agreed to have one.

Then he did something. Something that I would remember forever. He took his ring (which I bet is his wedding ring) off from his left 4th finger, and secured it on his scrub pants with a pin. Then he went on to wash his hands before starting the procedure.

Still don't get what I'm trying to say about this anaesthetist? Here's what he did. Each time he has finished giving someone an epidural, he put the ring back on his finger. And each time he had to do an epidural, he will take it off again and pin it on his pants. Do you have any idea how many patients he had to see that night? A plethora. And that ring, tak sempat panas bontot either pinned on his pants, or on his finger. He must have really loved that ring. He could have just pin it on his pants for the rest of the night and put it back on at the end of his shift, but he just wears it as much as possible! Such devotion.

This anaesthetist shouldn't be the highlight of today's post. But I just couldn't help it. I intended to tell about births, maybe later.

I gotta admit, this post is kinda girly, lols.
